WPUK: UCL and Stonewall

We are aware of an article in a student publication attacking UCL for their decision not to renew membership of Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index.
The article makes baseless allegations about the UCL review of its Stonewall membership.
It misrepresents individuals and groups who took part including the UCL Women’s Liberation SIG.
We note that the author also indulges in scurrilous slurs about our campaign which we could have corrected if given the opportunity.
We are a women’s rights organisation led by trade unionists and socialists.
We campaign to uphold women’s legal rights.
We believe trans people should be able to live their lives without fear of prejudice or discrimination.
It is a shame that the author of this article did not contact us for comment so that we could have corrected her mistakes.
You can read an account of the UCL decision making process here.
You can read the UCL Women’s Liberation SIG response here.
You can read our mythbusters here and here.
We believe that it is important to share a range of viewpoints on women’s rights and advancement from different perspectives. WPUK does not necessarily agree or endorse all the views that we share.
