The Department for Education has published (draft) comprehensive guidance for teachers on how best to support pupils questioning their gender in schools

We are pleased to see the Government finally issue its guidance on sex and gender in schools. We hope this guidance, referred to as a “parent first approach” properly addresses the many issues that young people, families and schools are having to manage. We will be reading the draft guidance carefully and considering our response.
The government is opening a consultation on this guidance and we will publish our response alongside guidelines for completing it in the new year. In the meantime, here is guidance produced by experienced classroom teachers to bridge the gap in robust advice from government and unions.
